Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Real Life Portuguese application, website, lessons, audio, subscription features, and related services (“Service”), operated by Emanuel Souza under the name Real Life Portuguese (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

By creating an account, accessing the Service, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. The Service

Real Life Portuguese provides educational content designed to help users learn Brazilian Portuguese, including lessons, audio, exercises, cultural material, quizzes, and other learning resources.

We may update, add, modify, or remove content and features as the Service develops. We do not guarantee that any specific lesson or feature will remain available permanently.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activities performed through it.

You may not share, sell, transfer, or provide unauthorized access to your account. You must provide accurate information and use the Service only for lawful purposes.

3. Subscription Access

Access to app lessons and subscription features requires an active subscription. A lesson preview may be available on the public website.

Premium access is personal, limited, non-transferable, and intended only for the subscriber’s individual educational use.

4. Subscription Plans

The Service may offer the following auto-renewing subscriptions:

• Monthly Premium: USD $12.99 per month, with a 3-day free trial for eligible new customers.
• Annual Premium: USD $79.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new customers.
• Annual Promotional Plan: USD $59.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new customers.

Final pricing, currency, and applicable taxes are displayed at checkout before payment.

Promotional plans may be available only for a limited time or to eligible customers.

5. Free Trials

Free trials are generally available only to customers who have never previously made a Real Life Portuguese purchase.

When a trial ends, the selected payment method will automatically be charged for the applicable subscription unless the subscription is canceled before the trial expires.

Creating additional accounts or using different payment methods to obtain repeated trials is prohibited.

6. Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled before the renewal date.

By subscribing, you authorize our payment providers to charge the payment method provided at checkout for the initial subscription and subsequent renewals.

The renewal date, amount, and billing frequency are displayed during checkout and may also appear in receipts and the customer portal.

7. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription through the customer portal provided in your subscription emails or through another cancellation method made available by us.

Cancellation prevents future renewals. Unless otherwise required by applicable law, access remains active until the end of the paid billing period.

Deleting the application or ceasing to use the Service does not automatically cancel a subscription.

8. Refunds

Except where required by applicable law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide credits for partially used subscription periods.

You may contact us if you believe a charge was made incorrectly. Refund requests may be reviewed individually without limiting any mandatory consumer rights.

Subscriptions purchased through Apple or Google are subject to the respective store’s billing and refund rules.

9. Payment Processing

Web payments are processed through Stripe, while subscription management is provided through RevenueCat Billing.

We do not directly store complete credit card information. Your use of these payment services may also be subject to the applicable provider’s terms and privacy practices.

10. Acceptable Use

You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit Service content;
• Extract or download content through unauthorized automated methods;
• Share Premium content or account access with third parties;
• Attempt to interfere with, reverse engineer, or compromise the Service;
• Use the Service in violation of applicable laws.

11. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its lessons, recordings, text, exercises, branding, illustrations, and software, is owned by or licensed to Real Life Portuguese and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Your subscription grants only a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, and non-transferable right to use the Service for personal educational purposes.

12. Educational Disclaimer

Language-learning results vary between users. We do not guarantee fluency, specific proficiency levels, professional qualifications, or particular educational outcomes.

13. Availability and Changes

We may perform maintenance or experience interruptions. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

We may change these Terms, features, or future prices. Material changes affecting active subscriptions will be communicated when required by applicable law.

14. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access when a user violates these Terms, engages in fraud, abuses trials, shares unauthorized content, or threatens the security of the Service.

Termination does not limit rights that must be provided under applicable consumer law.

15. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Real Life Portuguese will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections applicable in the customer’s country or jurisdiction.
