Use cuidar de for care, attention, and maintenance

Cuidar de can mean taking care of a person, animal, object, or responsibility. It highlights attention and care and also appears in expressions about looking after yourself or maintaining something.

Remember the preposition: cuidar de alguém or cuidar de alguma coisa. When a definite article follows de, it may contract: de + o becomes do and de + a becomes da.

Make the phrase useful to you

Choose one example you could actually use. Say it once from memory, then change one detail that fits your life, such as the person, place, time, or object. Check whether your change also needs a different verb form, article, or adjective ending. If it does, compare it with the pattern in the explanation.

Both patterns are useful: cuidar de highlights care and attention, while tomar conta de often emphasizes supervision or responsibility for a period.

Return to two prompts tomorrow without opening the answers first. If a phrase still feels difficult, shorten it to a useful chunk and build the complete sentence again.
