Use tanto faz when either option is fine

Tanto faz is a common way to say that the choice makes no difference to you. Add para mim to clarify that you are speaking about your own preference. Tone and a friendly follow-up help it sound easygoing.

Brazilian Portuguese examples with English translations: Use tanto faz when either option is fine
    Brazilian PortugueseEnglish meaning
Pode ser às sete ou às oito. Para mim, tanto faz.It can be at seven or eight. Either is fine with me.
Você prefere café ou chá? Tanto faz.Do you prefer coffee or tea? Either is fine.

    Use não me importo carefully

Não me importo literally means ‘I don’t care’ or ‘I don’t mind.’ It can express genuine lack of concern, but without context it may sound blunt. Add por mim or uma coisa to make your meaning clearer.

Brazilian Portuguese examples with English translations: Use não me importo carefully
    Brazilian PortugueseEnglish meaning
Não me importo de esperar mais cinco minutos.I don’t mind waiting five more minutes.
Por mim, a gente pode ficar em casa.I don’t mind; we can stay home, as far as I’m concerned.

Make your preference easy to understand

If you want to be warm and cooperative, say qualquer um dos dois está bom para mim (either one is fine with me) or você escolhe (you choose). These phrases avoid the risk of sounding uninterested.

Recall the Portuguese, then say it

Make the phrase useful to you

Choose one example you could actually use. Say it once from memory, then change one detail that fits your life, such as the person, place, time, or object. Check whether your change also needs a different verb form, article, or adjective ending. If it does, compare it with the pattern in the explanation.

Use tanto faz for a neutral choice, and reserve não me importo for contexts where your tone makes the intended meaning clear.

Return to two prompts tomorrow without opening the answers first. If a phrase still feels difficult, shorten it to a useful chunk and build the complete sentence again.
