Portuguese at a Coworking Space: Ask About Desks and Rooms — Practice
A guided practice lesson with English explanations, Brazilian Portuguese examples, and answers you can check. Read the examples, recall the meaning, then say a version of your own.
Ask about a day pass and workspace
Espaço de coworking means coworking space, and diária can refer to a daily pass or daily rate. Ask whether a desk is available and what the day pass includes.
Rates, amenities, and booking rules vary. Confirm the current details with the space before arriving.
| Brazilian Portuguese | English meaning |
|---|---|
| Tem mesa disponível para hoje? | Is a desk available for today? |
| Quanto custa a diária? | How much is a day pass? |
| O que está incluído? | What is included? |
Ask about a meeting room or call area
Ask whether a meeting room needs to be reserved and whether there is a quiet place for a call. Use sala de reunião for meeting room and cabine for a booth or small cabin.
If the space has a policy for calls, ask where you should take them instead of assuming every room permits speaking.
| Brazilian Portuguese | English meaning |
|---|---|
| Preciso reservar a sala de reunião? | Do I need to book the meeting room? |
| Tem um lugar silencioso para fazer uma chamada? | Is there a quiet place to make a call? |
| Posso usar esta cabine por uma hora? | Can I use this booth for an hour? |
Confirm practical amenities
Ask whether Wi-Fi, printing, coffee, or a monitor is available and whether each amenity has a separate cost. A short, direct question is easier for staff to answer.
For remote-work phrases and describing your schedule, continue with our guide to talking about working remotely in Portuguese.
| Brazilian Portuguese | English meaning |
|---|---|
| Qual é a senha do Wi-Fi? | What is the Wi-Fi password? |
| Posso imprimir este documento? | Can I print this document? |
| Tem monitor disponível? | Is a monitor available? |
Remember: Ask what the day pass includes, where you can take a call, and which amenities have an extra charge.
Check your understanding
Choose the English meaning of each Portuguese example. Answer before looking back at the tables. These questions check the written examples in this guide; they are not a listening or proficiency test.
Recall the Portuguese, then say it
Read the English prompt and say a Portuguese version before opening the answer. The answer shows the example from the lesson; other natural translations may also work. Compare the meaning and the situation rather than counting a different word as automatically wrong.

Make the phrase useful to you
Choose one example you could actually use. Say it once from memory, then change one detail that fits your life, such as the person, place, time, or object. Check whether your change also needs a different verb form, article, or adjective ending. If it does, compare it with the pattern in the explanation.
Ask what the day pass includes, where you can take a call, and which amenities have an extra charge.
Return to two prompts tomorrow without opening the answers first. If a phrase still feels difficult, shorten it to a useful chunk and build the complete sentence again.
