Introduce Your Services to a Client in Brazilian Portuguese — Practice
A guided practice lesson with English explanations, Brazilian Portuguese examples, and answers you can check. Read the examples, recall the meaning, then say a version of your own.
Explain your role in one short sentence
A useful introduction pairs trabalho with a clear action: Trabalho com design de produto (I work in product design) or Ajudo empresas a organizar seus dados (I help companies organize their data). The phrase com + noun names a field; ajudar + infinitive describes what you do.
Use trabalho autônomo or sou freelancer if that accurately describes your work. Keep the introduction specific enough that a new client can understand what kind of help you offer.
| Brazilian Portuguese | English meaning |
|---|---|
| Sou fotógrafa e trabalho com retratos para pequenas empresas. | I'm a photographer and I work on portraits for small businesses. (speaker: woman) |
| Ajudo equipes a melhorar a comunicação com os clientes. | I help teams improve customer communication. |
Ask what the client is trying to accomplish
Ask Qual é o principal objetivo? (What is the main goal?) or O que você gostaria de melhorar? (What would you like to improve?). These questions focus the first conversation on the client's situation before you describe a solution.
Use atualmente (currently) to ask about the client's process today, and idealmente (ideally) to ask what a successful outcome would look like.
| Brazilian Portuguese | English meaning |
|---|---|
| Como vocês fazem esse processo atualmente? | How do you handle this process currently? |
| O que seria um bom resultado para a equipe? | What would be a good result for the team? |
Agree on a useful next step
Close by suggesting a next step: Posso enviar algumas opções? (Can I send a few options?). If you need more information first, list the items you want the client to share.
Repeat when you will follow up and which channel you will use. A clear close gives both people a simple action after the introduction.
| Brazilian Portuguese | English meaning |
|---|---|
| Posso enviar um resumo por e-mail até amanhã? | Can I send a summary by email by tomorrow? |
| Quais informações você precisa de mim para começar? | What information do you need from me to get started? |
Remember: Introduce your work, ask about the client's goal, and end with one specific next step and a time.
Check your understanding
Choose the English meaning of each Portuguese example. Answer before looking back at the tables. These questions check the written examples in this guide; they are not a listening or proficiency test.
Recall the Portuguese, then say it
Read the English prompt and say a Portuguese version before opening the answer. The answer shows the example from the lesson; other natural translations may also work. Compare the meaning and the situation rather than counting a different word as automatically wrong.
I'm a photographer and I work on portraits for small businesses. (speaker: woman)

Make the phrase useful to you
Choose one example you could actually use. Say it once from memory, then change one detail that fits your life, such as the person, place, time, or object. Check whether your change also needs a different verb form, article, or adjective ending. If it does, compare it with the pattern in the explanation.
Introduce your work, ask about the client's goal, and end with one specific next step and a time.
Return to two prompts tomorrow without opening the answers first. If a phrase still feels difficult, shorten it to a useful chunk and build the complete sentence again.
