Check availability at this or another branch

Em estoque means in stock and outra unidade can mean another branch. Give the product name, model, size, or color so the employee can check the right item.

Inventory changes quickly. Ask the store to confirm the current availability before you travel to another location.

Brazilian Portuguese examples with English translations: Check availability at this or another branch
    Brazilian PortugueseEnglish meaning
Este modelo está em estoque nesta unidade? Is this model in stock at this branch?
Você consegue verificar se há uma unidade na loja do centro? Can you check whether there is one at the downtown store?

Ask whether the store can reserve it

Reservar is to reserve, and deixar separado means to set aside. Ask whether the store can hold the item and for how long. Reservation rules vary, and a store may ask for a deposit or confirmation.

If the store agrees, confirm the name and phone number it will use. Do not assume a verbal hold lasts beyond the time the employee states.

Brazilian Portuguese examples with English translations: Ask whether the store can reserve it
    Brazilian PortugueseEnglish meaning
Vocês conseguem deixar este item separado para eu retirar hoje? Can you set this item aside for me to pick up today?
Até que horas a reserva fica válida?Until what time is the reservation valid?

Confirm where and how to collect the item

Ask which branch has the item and whether you should go to the sales counter, pickup desk, or another location. If you receive a confirmation code, repeat it or write it down.

Before leaving, confirm the item is still reserved and whether you need identification or an order number.

Brazilian Portuguese examples with English translations: Confirm where and how to collect the item
    Brazilian PortugueseEnglish meaning
Devo retirar na loja ou no balcão de pedidos?Should I pick it up in the store or at the order counter?
Preciso apresentar algum código para retirar?Do I need to show a code to pick it up?

Remember: Identify the exact product, confirm the hold period and branch, and ask what you need to collect it.

Read the English prompt and say a Portuguese version before opening the answer. The answer shows the example from the lesson; other natural translations may also work. Compare the meaning and the situation rather than counting a different word as automatically wrong.

Make the phrase useful to you

Choose one example you could actually use. Say it once from memory, then change one detail that fits your life, such as the person, place, time, or object. Check whether your change also needs a different verb form, article, or adjective ending. If it does, compare it with the pattern in the explanation.

Identify the exact product, confirm the hold period and branch, and ask what you need to collect it.

Return to two prompts tomorrow without opening the answers first. If a phrase still feels difficult, shorten it to a useful chunk and build the complete sentence again.
