    Ask how the service works

Creche para cães means dog daycare, and hospedagem para animais means pet boarding. Ask how a typical day works, what hours are available, and whether the business needs to meet your pet before the first stay.

Each provider has its own routines and requirements. Ask the staff to explain its current policies, supervision, and check-in process.

Brazilian Portuguese examples with English translations: Ask how the service works
    Brazilian PortugueseEnglish meaning
Como funciona a creche para cães?How does the dog daycare work?
Vocês oferecem hospedagem durante o fim de semana?Do you offer boarding over the weekend?
É possível conhecer o espaço antes? Is it possible to see the space beforehand?

Share the feeding and walking schedule

Use horário da refeição for mealtime and passeio for a walk. Explain the routine with short sentences: Ele come duas vezes por dia (He eats twice a day). State the time or portion when the care team needs it.

Write instructions down and ask the staff to repeat them. This helps when there are several details, such as meal times, a preferred walking pace, or a command your pet knows.

Brazilian Portuguese examples with English translations: Share the feeding and walking schedule

Ela come às sete da manhã e às seis da tarde. She eats at seven in the morning and six in the evening.
Ele está acostumado a passear depois do almoço.He is used to going for a walk after lunch.

Explain comfort items and contact preferences

A familiar blanket is uma manta conhecida, and a favorite toy is um brinquedo favorito. Ask whether you can bring these items and how the business will contact you with an update.

Give accurate contact details directly to the provider. If your pet has a care need, ask whether staff can accommodate it and who should receive the instructions.

Make the phrase useful to you

Choose one example you could actually use. Say it once from memory, then change one detail that fits your life, such as the person, place, time, or object. Check whether your change also needs a different verb form, article, or adjective ending. If it does, compare it with the pattern in the explanation.

Ask about the routine and share concise, written information about food, walks, and comfort items before the stay.

Return to two prompts tomorrow without opening the answers first. If a phrase still feels difficult, shorten it to a useful chunk and build the complete sentence again.
