Ask for the correct academic record

Histórico escolar is an academic transcript or record showing a student's courses and results. Institutions may use another name or issue different records for current and former students, so describe why you need it.

Provide the identifying details the university requests through its official channel. If you are applying elsewhere, ask the receiving institution which document it accepts.

Check format and language options

Ask whether the transcript is digital or printed and whether it is issued in Portuguese or another language. Do not assume a translated document will be accepted by another university; confirm its requirements with the receiving institution.

If the record needs an official signature or verification code, ask which versions the university can provide.

Confirm the fee, deadline, and delivery method

Ask whether there is a service fee and how long the request takes. Each institution sets its own process, so use the timeline and payment method the academic office confirms.

When the record arrives, check your name, course list, and date. Report a factual error to the issuing office.

Make the phrase useful to you

Choose one example you could actually use. Say it once from memory, then change one detail that fits your life, such as the person, place, time, or object. Check whether your change also needs a different verb form, article, or adjective ending. If it does, compare it with the pattern in the explanation.

Name the academic record you need, verify its format with the receiving organization, and confirm the university's issue process.
