Five themes to help you explain what interests you

Brazil is a large and varied country, so a traveler’s experience depends on where they go and what they enjoy. These are broad conversation themes for describing your own interests; they are not presented as the episode’s five exact reasons.

    1. Beaches and the coast. Quero conhecer uma praia no Brasil. — I want to visit a beach in Brazil.
    2. Nature and landscapes. Gosto de lugares com muita natureza. — I like places with lots of nature.
    3. Food. Quero experimentar a comida local. — I want to try the local food.
    4. Music and culture. Tenho curiosidade sobre a música e a cultura brasileiras. — I’m curious about Brazilian music and culture.
    5. Conversation and connection. Quero conversar com as pessoas e praticar português. — I want to talk with people and practice Portuguese.

These phrases let you talk about your own interests without suggesting that every visitor wants the same trip or that one experience represents all of Brazil.

Use porque to give a reason

Start with Quero visitar o Brasil porque… (“I want to visit Brazil because…”) and complete the thought with a reason:

    • Quero visitar o Brasil porque gosto de natureza. — I want to visit Brazil because I like nature.
    • Quero experimentar a comida e conhecer cidades diferentes. — I want to try the food and see different cities.
    • Quero praticar português em situações reais. — I want to practice Portuguese in real situations.

Porque introduces your reason. You can place that reason after your main idea, as in the examples, or use it to answer a direct question.
