Ask about the class level and registration

Ask whether the class is for beginners or for people with experience. Aula experimental can mean a trial class, while nível iniciante means beginner level.

Class schedules, registration, and fees are set by the studio. Confirm the current details and what to bring before attending.

Ask the teacher to show a step again

Use pode mostrar de novo? to ask for a demonstration. You can also ask which foot to move first or whether the group should turn.

A clear question tells the instructor exactly what you need to see again.

Tell a partner what you need

In a partnered dance, ask whether the person is ready and say if you would like to practice slowly first. Clear, respectful communication helps both people follow the exercise.

Remember: Practice one question about the class level, one about a step, and one polite request to practice at a slower pace.

    Check your understanding

Choose the English meaning of each Portuguese example. Answer before looking back at the tables. These questions check the written examples in this guide; they are not a listening or proficiency test.

Recall the Portuguese, then say it

Read the English prompt and say a Portuguese version before opening the answer. The answer shows the example from the lesson; other natural translations may also work. Compare the meaning and the situation rather than counting a different word as automatically wrong.

Make the phrase useful to you

Choose one example you could actually use. Say it once from memory, then change one detail that fits your life, such as the person, place, time, or object. Check whether your change also needs a different verb form, article, or adjective ending. If it does, compare it with the pattern in the explanation.

Practice one question about the class level, one about a step, and one polite request to practice at a slower pace.

Return to two prompts tomorrow without opening the answers first. If a phrase still feels difficult, shorten it to a useful chunk and build the complete sentence again.
