Write a Client Follow-Up in Portuguese: Decisions and Action Items — Practice
A guided practice lesson with English explanations, Brazilian Portuguese examples, and answers you can check. Read the examples, recall the meaning, then say a version of your own.
Open with a short meeting summary
Use resumo da reunião for meeting summary and decisão for decision. Start with the project's name and date, then list the one or two main decisions in plain language.
If something remains undecided, label it as an open question rather than writing it as an agreement.
| Brazilian Portuguese | English meaning |
|---|---|
| Segue um resumo da nossa reunião de hoje. | Here's a summary of our meeting today. |
| Ainda precisamos decidir o formato da apresentação. | We still need to decide on the presentation format. |
Name the owner and deadline for each task
Responsável is owner or person responsible, and prazo is deadline. Write each action as a verb and name one person or team who will handle it.
Use até + date to state when an action is due. If the date is a target rather than a firm commitment, explain that clearly.
| Brazilian Portuguese | English meaning |
|---|---|
| Eu envio a nova proposta até terça-feira. | I'll send the new proposal by Tuesday. |
| A equipe do cliente confirma os textos até dia 18. | The client's team will confirm the copy by the 18th. |
Invite corrections to the written recap
Ask the client to flag an error or missing decision. Uma correção is a correction; um ponto pendente is an outstanding item.
A short follow-up is useful only if it reflects what the group actually agreed. Make any correction before treating a task as confirmed.
| Brazilian Portuguese | English meaning |
|---|---|
| Se esqueci algum ponto, pode me avisar? | If I missed anything, could you let me know? |
| Você pode confirmar se esses prazos estão corretos? | Could you confirm whether these deadlines are correct? |
Remember: Record decisions separately from open questions, assign an owner and deadline, and invite the client to correct the recap.
Check your understanding
Choose the English meaning of each Portuguese example. Answer before looking back at the tables. These questions check the written examples in this guide; they are not a listening or proficiency test.
Recall the Portuguese, then say it
Read the English prompt and say a Portuguese version before opening the answer. The answer shows the example from the lesson; other natural translations may also work. Compare the meaning and the situation rather than counting a different word as automatically wrong.

Make the phrase useful to you
Choose one example you could actually use. Say it once from memory, then change one detail that fits your life, such as the person, place, time, or object. Check whether your change also needs a different verb form, article, or adjective ending. If it does, compare it with the pattern in the explanation.
Record decisions separately from open questions, assign an owner and deadline, and invite the client to correct the recap.
Return to two prompts tomorrow without opening the answers first. If a phrase still feels difficult, shorten it to a useful chunk and build the complete sentence again.

This I Speak Portuguese practice guide builds on our Write a Client Follow-Up in Portuguese: Decisions and Action Items lesson on Real Life Portuguese, with written recall tasks and additional speaking practice. The explanations and examples are teaching material; the practice questions are exercises, not a transcript of a recording.
To add Brazilian audio to your routine, choose a lesson in the Real Life Portuguese app. The app offers its own lessons and practice; this page does not imply that every example here has an app recording.
