Reschedule a Hair Appointment in Brazilian Portuguese — Practice
A guided practice lesson with English explanations, Brazilian Portuguese examples, and answers you can check. Read the examples, recall the meaning, then say a version of your own.
Identify the appointment you need to change
To reschedule, say remarcar o horário. Begin with your name and the original day or time so the salon can find the booking. If you are messaging on WhatsApp, a short apology and direct request sound natural.
| Brazilian Portuguese | English meaning |
|---|---|
| Oi, sou a Jamie. Preciso remarcar meu horário de sexta às três. | Hi, I’m Jamie. I need to reschedule my appointment for Friday at three. |
| Desculpa avisar em cima da hora. Surgiu um imprevisto. | Sorry for the short notice. Something unexpected came up. |
Offer a new time or ask what is available
A disponibilidade is availability. Give one or two alternatives if you can, or ask which times are open. For a service such as a cut or color, repeat the service when confirming if the appointment length matters.
| Brazilian Portuguese | English meaning |
|---|---|
| Você teria um horário na segunda de manhã? | Would you have an opening on Monday morning? |
| Pode ser na terça depois das quatro? | Could Tuesday after four work? |
Confirm the new booking clearly
Once the salon offers a time, repeat the day, time, and service. This small confirmation catches misunderstandings between sexta (Friday) and sábado (Saturday), or between morning and afternoon.
| Brazilian Portuguese | English meaning |
|---|---|
| Então ficou para terça, às quatro e meia, para cortar e pintar. Certo? | So it’s Tuesday at four thirty for a cut and color. Is that right? |
| Perfeito, obrigada. Até terça! | Perfect, thank you. See you Tuesday! |
Remember: Name the old booking, propose a realistic alternative, and repeat the agreed service and time.
Check your understanding
Choose the English meaning of each Portuguese example. Answer before looking back at the tables. These questions check the written examples in this guide; they are not a listening or proficiency test.
Recall the Portuguese, then say it
Read the English prompt and say a Portuguese version before opening the answer. The answer shows the example from the lesson; other natural translations may also work. Compare the meaning and the situation rather than counting a different word as automatically wrong.

Make the phrase useful to you
Choose one example you could actually use. Say it once from memory, then change one detail that fits your life, such as the person, place, time, or object. Check whether your change also needs a different verb form, article, or adjective ending. If it does, compare it with the pattern in the explanation.
Name the old booking, propose a realistic alternative, and repeat the agreed service and time.
Return to two prompts tomorrow without opening the answers first. If a phrase still feels difficult, shorten it to a useful chunk and build the complete sentence again.
