Não encontrei sua reserva. means “I didn’t find your reservation.” It describes the staff member’s search so far. It does not, by itself, explain whether the reservation was canceled, entered under another name or made for another date.
Reply with a fact you can show: Tenho esta confirmação. Podemos conferir o nome e as datas? — “I have this confirmation. Can we check the name and dates?” Use your actual booking details. The names, dates and arrangements in the practice below are invented, not real hotel records or policies.
Check one field at a time
- Pode estar no nome da minha companheira. — It may be under my partner’s name.
- A entrada é no dia quinze e a saída é no dia dezoito. — Arrival is on the fifteenth and departure on the eighteenth.
- Este é o número da confirmação. — This is the confirmation number.
- É esta unidade ou outra? — Is it this property or another one?
Spell or show only the information needed for the check. If you booked through another service, say Fiz a reserva por uma plataforma. — “I booked through a platform.” The staff can tell you what they can verify. Do not assume that a debit, an email and a confirmed room all mean the same thing.
Recognize when someone is still checking
Staff: Vou verificar com a central. — I’ll check with the central office.
You: Tudo bem. Posso esperar aqui? Quando devo voltar a falar com você? — All right. Can I wait here? When should I check back with you?
Staff: Pode voltar em dez minutos. — You can check back in ten minutes.
You: Certo. Por enquanto, vocês ainda estão verificando a reserva? — Right. For now, you’re still checking the booking?
Vou verificar is a future action, not a confirmation. Ask whether the next step is waiting, supplying a missing detail or contacting the booking service. If another room is offered, ask about its terms before accepting; these phrases do not establish refund or accommodation rights.
Practice: identify the unresolved detail
- The name search fails, but your partner made the booking. Offer a possible explanation.
- You are shown the seventeenth as the arrival date, but your confirmation says the fifteenth. Correct the mismatch.
- You hear “I’ll check.” Ask for a practical next step rather than assuming the problem is solved.
Show possible answers
- Pode estar no nome da minha companheira. Posso mostrar a confirmação?
- Na minha confirmação, a entrada é no dia quinze. Podemos conferir?
- Quando devo voltar para saber o resultado? — When should I come back to find out the result?
Rehearse two endings: the booking is found, or the staff needs more time. In both versions, state what is known and what is still being checked. You are practicing a calm information exchange, not memorizing a guaranteed solution.

For broader context, use Portuguese at a Hotel: Check-In, Room Problems and Requests. The dialogues, situations and answers here are original written teaching examples, not transcripts, current business offers or quotations from a recording.
Practice a short request in Real Life Portuguese, then add one booking detail and one confirmation question. In your own recording, make it clear whether you have an answer or are still waiting for a check.
